A Return to Simplicity: A Small Town Fourth

The sign behind the Bikers for Christ says "Here if you Need Us. The theme of helping your neighbor was recurring.	She was being pulled behind a Bikers for Christ Harley reloading the candy buckets for the walking throwers. Cool!
Believe it or not but I was first trumpet in the SHS band	But you couldn't have paid me to march in shorts.
Lots of class reunions had floats. Next year is my 50th, which is unreal, but I don't know about doing a parade with a walker....just kidding.	Royalty from another even smaller town.
We had governors, senators, congressmen and all those campaigning for those seats by the dozen. And some of them sported some of the worse toupees I've ever seen.	People enjoyed the mini-jazzercizers much more than the politicos.
Come on guys, here we are...throw it! Jen the Hollywood mogul leading the candy charge.	Miss Rodeo Nebraska rode off with David K's heart. He's hooked!
Celebrities of all sizes got into the act: Miss Independence and Miss Firecracker reign.	Doesn't cost much to ride in the parade. Run what you brung.
Model A's are a Nebraska staple and the club is always out in force.	Sylvester hitches a ride.
The Rivoli theater has been there for 90 years and I used old theater seat cushions from one of their remodeling as the first seats in the roadster.	Schultz takes these abandoned old monsters and puts them on the road again. Mega-recycling.

There's that help thing again.	There has been a Sea Cadet unit in Lincoln for years. Dunno why, with the ocean so far away. Just is.
What's more American than an old John Deere chugging down a small town parade route?	The Wissman family has 13 kids and is on the road constantly doing singing shows ala the Von Trapp Family.
I didn't know about the LadyJays, Seward's championship hometown basketball team	...but, I'll tell you what...basketball teams didn't look like that when I was a kid.
You can never have too many tractors in a parade!!	Couldn't resist: Aunt Jenny giving me her Tanya Tucker look.
