I didn't realize until I downloaded my photos that I had practically ignored all the super slick (and finished) high-buck cars and shot mostly those cars (I use that term loosely) that blew my creative skirt one way or the other. Every one of these sometimes funky looking vehicles was surrounded by some really nicely done rods and customs but all of that perfection created a sea of sameness punctuated by mostly crude little creations some of which I've pictured here. |
Your basic weird woody |
Wierd from any view |
Just chuggin' along. It's hard to see, but it has a great phoney patina'ed finish |
Chopping one of these suckers and getting it right ain't
easy |
Little UK econobox (Cortina?) with great big US V8 and blower with lawn roller tires |
Nothin' special but lots of fun details
like the canteen for the radiator expansion tank |
I should know where this came from, but don't. Sorry. |
How's this for a fun detail? |
It probably cost as much as my house, but it's sure pretty. |
Subdued, not particular exotic rig-rod.... |
...with a decidedly rat-like interior |
And this is why you don't keep the beer fridge in the workshop |
"...well, try trimming a little more on this side, maybe it'll even up...no, cut some that side." |
This is where the radiator hides. Behind the spider web.
Check out the bumper. |
The nice thing about rat rods is the
less craftsmanship the better. Note the brazing. |
Just in case you were wondering what kind of spider made
the web over the radiator. |
We think this is the front door. Not sure. It's stitched
leather! |
Snap-On finally made something I can afford. |
This is why you don't leave the LSD out where gramps can
get a hold of it. |
I've wanted to do this with a four-door: remove the rear door and move everything forward. |
